StoryHear (the “App”) is operated by us. We care about your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App and this website.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Device Information
- Device identifiers (deviceId), used to save reading progress and enable Guest Mode
- Device model, OS version, app version, and acquisition/source channel
- Push notification token (only after you authorize notification permissions)
2.2 Usage Data
- Reading behavior (opening the app, starting reading, chapter progress, and choice selections), used to improve experience and troubleshoot
- Crash logs and error reports, used to fix bugs
2.3 Account Information (Optional)
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive account identifiers, display names, or email addresses provided by the platform (as returned by the platform)
- We do not store your Apple/Google passwords
2.4 Subscriptions and Purchases
- Transaction identifiers, subscription status, expiration time, and platform type (Apple/Google)
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google. The App does not store full payment card information.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain the interactive story reading service
- Save and sync your reading progress
- Send push notifications (only after you authorize)
- Verify subscription entitlements
- Analyze app performance, fix errors, and improve the product experience
- Prevent abuse and fraud
4. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, analytics, and Crashlytics
- Apple App Store / Google Play: app distribution and subscription payments
- Huawei Cloud OBS / VOD: delivery of images and audio content
- Expo Push Notifications: push notification delivery

5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers we control, and we take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your information. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as absolutely secure. Please understand this risk.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this policy. You can clear local cached data by using “Clear Cache” inside the App. If an account deletion feature is made available, you may request deletion of data associated with your account.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected personal information from children, we will delete it as soon as possible.
8. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the following rights:
- Access and correct your personal information
- Delete your personal information
- Withdraw consent (e.g., notification permissions)
- Delete your account (when the feature is available)
9. Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
The App offers an optional auto-renewing subscription service (StoryHear Weekly VIP, Product ID: vip_weekly).
- Billing period: weekly auto-renewal, with a reference price of approximately USD $2.99/week (as shown in the store)
- Entitlements: during your subscription period, you can read all released chapters. Non-subscribers can typically read the first 10 chapters of each story.
- Cancellation: iOS in “Settings → Subscriptions”; Android via Google Play “Subscriptions”.
- You can continue to use the service until the end of the current paid period after cancellation.
- When switching devices, sign in with the same Apple ID/Google account and use “Restore Purchases.”
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. After updates, we will publish the revised version on this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via in-app notifications or other appropriate means.
